77th Annual Fair – July 30 – August 7, 2021
The Heritage Exhibit was held in Heritage Hall, displaying the fairground’s history with photos and memorabilia. The Fairgrounds Heritage Foundation board members were available to answer questions and give guided tours. A scavenger hunt encouraged young and old to learn more about the fairground’s history by searching the exhibit for answers to questions about the Cheery Farmer, Miss Santa Clara County, the San Jose Rodeo, the Fairview train, and much, much more. A life-sized Cheery Farmer sat on a park bench, waiting for folks to sit next to him and have their photos taken.
If you did not get an opportunity to visit, you can still see the Heritage Exhibit by taking the virtual tour. Items are presented by each decade since the 1940’s. You can see photos of the State House, the installation of the iconic fairgrounds arch, and many other events and activities held at the fairgrounds.
